English Dub Review: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? ” (Syr) First Love”

Overview:

Freya loved a mortal who would never love her back, and both she and others suffered for it. The conflict she started is ending, and the goddess must face her final fate.

Our Take:

After a lot of production delays, we finally reached the season five finale! I have to say it was pretty good, and the fight with Ottar reached its exciting climax. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that Bell used the power of friendship to win, but he did win after receiving buffs and things like that from his friends. Of course, he ended the fight with his main move, fire bolt, but only after he had stockpiled his hero power. You might have forgotten, but Bell has an ability that makes some of his skills stronger the more dire the circumstances.

I liked the episode, but I have to admit I didn’t understand it. After losing the war game and spending some time at Mama Mia’s bar, Freya turns into Syr. Is that how she is now? Will she be Syr forever? I’m not sure, and it’s not exactly explained, and I feel bad that her whole family had to disband. I hope we get a sixth season, and if we do, I want to see more Ais and what happens with the members of Freya’s familia.
