English Dub Review: Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms “Lockscreen with Him”

Overview:

A new battle arises over the fate of Medaka’s phone wallpaper… and Halloween costumes for the girls.

Our Take:

When I was in high school, cell phones were still pretty basic and not everyone had one. But I’d like to think I still remember what it was like to be one and even I think the lockscreen thing of this episode was weird. According to Medaka’s friends, “all guys have to have a hot girl as their lockscreen” which is dumb. But what’s more dumb is Mona believing that Medaka would choose to have a girl on his lockscreen in the first place. Of course it was the dumb guys who forced him to have it on there.

Luckily that was a small part of the episode and the main part was preparing for an upcoming Halloween party. As you would expect, Mona is going to take advantage of this party to try and figure out Medaka’s preferences. But when the costume she thinks he picks ends up being too risque even for her, what’s she going to do? Mona isn’t one to back down so you know she still tried it on, only to find out it wasn’t the costume Medaka likes at all. Maybe she’ll choose something a little less revealing for the party.
