English Dub Review: How I Attended an All-Guy’s Mixer “That Time I Went to a Comic Convention and…”

Overview:

Fuji invites Asagi to a “festival.” But when he gets there, Asagi finds out he is actually at a comic convention.

Our Take:

One of the few problems I have with this series is that I had hoped that since this is about people in college it would be more mature. But for some reason, all the guys act like (or are treated) like high schoolers. Do you mean to tell me that Asagi has gone his entire life without ever reading or watching something pornographic in nature? Not even by accident? I understand that he’s meant to be the “innocent” character and has the personality of a Golden Retriever but he’s still a guy in his twenties.

With all that said Asagi seems to be the one that’s getting the furthest at least as romantic development is concerned. He not only spent the whole day with Fuji at her convention but they went to dinner and he ended up staying the night at her place. Suo seemed to think something naughty happened but since Asagi doesn’t even know what sex is I don’t think that’s on the table. This series had a lot of promise and I’m still hopeful but I have to admit I’m losing faith.
