English Dub Review: Honey Lemon Soda “I’m Sorry I Love Him”

Uka and Serina struggle to open up about their feelings. Can they figure it out over summer break?

Our Take:

I had high hopes for this episode but the beginning made me think I was in for one of the most frustrating episodes I’ve watched recently. I thought we were going to see the trope where two love rivals bond over being in love with the same person. Here I was hoping that Ishimori would think about her feelings for once, but nope, she backed down the second she realized Serina might still have feelings for Miura. My main issue with Ishimori making that choice is that it’s not choosing only herself but for Miura as well. What if he has feelings for Ishimori but she acts this way?

As if to prove my point, during the second part of the episode Ishimori gets invited to the Summer Festival with Ayumi. She of course runs into Miura during the festival, and he wants to spend time with her but she won’t let herself be happy. While I don’t like how she handled it, I was glad to see that she went and found Serina and admitted to her that she does have feelings for Miura.
