Barack Obama Nearly Did An Animated Cameo In “Severance”

I haven’t had a chance to catchย Severanceย mainly because I’m behind on anything that is live-action television. That said, I hear it’s a great show and I love Ben Stiller so I hope it does really well.

In any case, you may recall this clip from s02e01 of Severance, where the Macrodata Refinement team watch a reformed orientation video featuring their anthropomorphized office building, Lumon voiced by Keanu Reeves. Well, according to a report from Indiewire, that role nearly went to former President of the United States, Barack Obama. As it turns out, Obama is a huge fan of the show, but when asked by Ben Stiller to do the cameo, the former Commander in Chief was way too busy and politely declined.ย

In any event, the series is the most-watched series in Apple TV history and has already won two Emmys so it doesn’t appear the show needed the President THAT bad. Plus Keanu is a fantastic voice actor and did the role justice.
