English Dub Review: Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister “The Send-Off Fires and the Vow with the Gods”
OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)
Uryu has some doubts about his ability to run the shrine and the girls overhear.
OUR TAKE
Finally a plot that was focused to a single episode! But don’t get comfortable, because as mentioned in the caption, this is mainly a character development checkpoint between the last three parter, which focused on Asahi realizing she is in love with Uryu, and the next three parter, which based on the previews seems to be focused on Yuna and will likely end with her realizing she is in love with Uryu, to complete the set that began with the second three parter that focused on Yae and ended with her realizing she was in love with Uryu. And yes, that was a giant run on sentence to begin this review, but it’s basically to emphasize the point that despite being over halfway through this season, or possibly because of it, this series is kind of predictable with its format if I can basically comfortably predict the next handful of episodes. And then after that batch, we’ll only have four episodes left, but the manga isn’t over yet, so don’t expect Uryu to have made up his mind about who to marry by the end of this season. Hell, we probably won’t be getting that until at least a couple seasons from now.
But enough about episodes that have passed and will come, let’s actually talk about the one that came out today. And as I said, it’s really just a point for Uryu to check in with himself about where he is on his own personal journey. At the start of the series, he didn’t believe in anything religious or supernatural, especially not the gods. Now, after being literally sent back in time AND put into a time loop, it would probably be pretty hard, bordering on stupid even, to deny there was something at least a little weird going on here. Personally, I’m not sure my takeaway from it would be as nice as his, with him now basically fully accepting his potential future life as a priest, but good for him. I mean I’d probably start being kind of angry at the gods for pulling this kind of shit, but that’s just me. Oh, and the girls finally confirm that none of them are blood related, which I, like Uryu, already picked up on awhile back, though the current OP does put them all in a scene where their faces are the same, so…mixed signals there, guys. Anyway, more three parters next week so all three girls can finally be on the same page about liking this dude.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
