First Look: Animated Series Adaptation Of “The Dollop” Podcast Premiering Later This Week

Gareth Reynolds can be heard in a couple of episodes of Adult Swim’s Royal Crackers but he’s probably best known as the co-host of The Dollop with Dave Anthony. Starting Saturday, January 4th, Episode 1, features the chaotic and eccentric baseball legend Rube Waddell. From chasing fire trucks to wrestling alligators, this is history like you’ve never seen it before.

The Dollop: The Animated Series, will be a 10-episode, 5-minute animated series based on the critically acclaimed historical comedy podcast The Dollop.

The Dollop podcast, which began as Dave’s Dollop before evolving into its current iteration
when Anthony and Reynolds teamed up, explores bizarre and often absurd events in history
through the lens of irreverent humor. Known for its blend of historical storytelling and comedic
improvisation, the show has gained a massive following over the years. With the release of The
Dollop: The Animated Series, fans will finally get to see the absurdly funny tales they love in a
visually engaging format.

The animated series will be directed by Matt Lyon. Lakeside Animation, in collaboration with Cutting Class Media, will be handling distribution and is already exploring opportunities to scale the series into a longer format, including a potential full-length animated series. The series will form part of Cutting Class Media’s new distribution catalogue with additional catalogue titles to be announced early in 2025.
