English Dub Review: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? “(Freya Familia) Invasion”

Overview:

Syr had her chance. It’s Freya’s turn now, and the goddess will use any means necessary to make all Orario understand that Bell is hers. Completely. Undeniably. Hers.

Our Take:

I love mafia movies, especially those scenes when you see a massive hit planned for many people. When it’s executed perfectly it can be both fun and heartbreaking to watch based on who’s involved. Usually in those movies the people getting attacked don’t have the abilities of a superhero though which is where this episode disappointed a little bit. I’m all for Hestia’s familia getting bodied by Freya’s but most of them didn’t even lay a finger on their attacker. I’m sure it was a way to show how powerful Freya’s children are but Hestia’s group has grown so much that I figured they would at least get a scratch or two in.

Bell is now in the hands of Freya and because of a spell she cast on all of Orario, everyone thinks he’s been a part of her familia the whole time. This arc reminds me of one of my favorite anime Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches. In that show a witch casts a spell where everyone forgets the main character and it feels somewhat similar to what’s happening to Bell. Hestia remembers but she can’t play her hand just yet. I’m having a lot of fun with this show so far and I think it’s only going to get better.
