MAX News: Sizzle Quick Teases Creature Commandos ; Blue Beetle Voice Confirmed For Animated Revival

No Smallville animated series is imminent but Xolo Maridueña will be returning to reprise his role as that of Blue Beetle in the upcoming animated series that is currently in development for MAX.
Miguel Paga will serve as director and showrunner, and Cristian Martinez will serve as writer. A number of executive producers from the film include Angel Manuel Soto and Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, John Rikard, and Galen Vaisman.
MAX has given us a quick tease of the upcoming DC Studios adult animated series Creature Commandos. The 7-episode first season of CREATURE COMMANDOS will debut with two episodes on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 5 on Max, followed by one episode weekly until January 9.
CREATURE COMMANDOS, produced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation, tracks a secret team of incarcerated monsters recruited for missions deemed too dangerous for humans. When all else fails… they’re your last, worst option. Cast includes Steve Agee as Economos, Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana, Anya Chalotra as Circe, Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Sean Gunn as GI Robot & Weasel, David Harbour as Frankenstein, Alan Tudyk as Dr. Phosphorus, Indira Varma as The Bride, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
