English Dub Review: Trillion Game “The Bad Guy”

OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)

Haru and Gaku continue to the next stage.

OUR TAKE

We continue through the beginning stages of this success story for two future billionaires which I quite frankly struggle to remember anything significant to talk about. Like seriously, each of these episodes has some sort of weird filter over it that makes me instantly forget the majority of events, and the wikipedia article is no help in recollecting it so here I am just stalling for time until something comes to me. Well, they finished the hacking competition, I know that much! And they showed they were a clear asset to a lot of other investors besides their current sugar mommy Kirika Kokuryu, who definitely has an eye on Haru for other reasons. With this first big victory out of the way, they can stretch their legs a bit and start looking at their next options, among them hopefully being actually picking what the hell they’re going to do that will make them so much money by the time of these flash forward segments that show them, or at least Gaku, as billionaires. In the “present”, it’s at least clear that the two are a very promising team, with Gaku being damn near a genius on the technical side of things while Haru is the mouth, but as we see here he brings some intuition to the table as well, allowing Gaku to get some early points by recognizing one of the hacking challenges will include the Star Wars theme.

Still, I guess I can’t help but feel like there’s just not a whole lot to talk about right now, mainly because…not a whole has happened. We’re not even a fifth into the episodes we’ll get this season, so a slow start is understandable to a degree, but the fact remains that I am really struggling to bring up things that I didn’t bring up in the last couple of reviews. It looks like this victory (or at least securing of the lowest rank needed to progress) is a major step forward they needed that will open a few big doors and introduce further major characters, which is of course good. And hopefully all of that will help me to have something significant to actually talk about because I am most definitely floundering here!
