English Dub Review: Shangri-La Frontier “The Uncompromising Gatekeeper”
Overview
Sunraku and his pals make it into the Divinity-era workshop and retrieve the magic operations unit, but Pencilgon and Oikatzo have a score to settle with him before the quest proceeds any further…
Our Take
This time around we further follow Sunraku and his friends as they explore ancient, mysterious ruins where unexpected challenges await. With their usual humor and camaraderie, the group faces surprises like high-tech defenses and tricky obstacles, bringing out each character’s strengths and quirks. Emul stumbles upon a peculiar item that could help their ally Bilac, leading to a funny mix-up of sorts.
The character interactions are where this episode shines the most as Arthur and Katzo join in, adding fresh energy to the team’s efforts to secure a unique artifact. Alongside teamwork and quick thinking, the episode introduces familiar faces from a rival clan who make things interesting by bringing in their brand of trouble. The group must think on their feet, adapting to every twist in this exciting and amusing venture.
Overall, this episode does a decent job of mixing action, humor, and camaraderie when the story demands it. The friendly rivalry and chaotic teamwork make it fun to watch, and fans of the show’s humor and dynamic interactions won’t be disappointed. With quality animation and attention to detail, the series continues to impress, though for the funny post-credits scene, you might need to turn on subtitles due to some comedic moments that require actual reading, but most of it gave me a chuckle at least…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
