English Dub Review: Nina the Starry Bride “Memories of Blood”

Overview:

The princes of Galgada begin vying for Nina’s hand in bids for the throne. After hearing rumors from the other princes, Nina asks Sett about the Temple of Blood and learns about his childhood, which made him a man.

Our Take:

I feel like saying “the plot thickens” is a huge understatement. The throne of Galgada is up for grabs and whoever can get Nina to marry them wins the throne. Seems like a lot to put on someone being able to seduce someone. Not only is that going on but Azure has assumed the throne back in Fortna, which Nina learns as some messengers from the country are on their way in to the castle. It seems like one of the messengers might be Azure, he never had any aspirations for the throne before could losing Nina have forced him to take the throne and come for her?

This is all coming at an awkward time because it was starting to seem like Sett and Nina were starting to click. Sure Nina had her duty but she shows signs of having legitimate feelings for Sett now and if Azure had stayed away that could have blossomed into something but with him returning I think we’re about to see a massive love triangle. I typically hate those but I’m hopeful that this show can handle it well, if that ends up being the case.
