English Dub Review: Blue Lock “The Big Stage”
Overview:
The exhibition match between Blue Lock and Japan’s U-20s has finally kicked off. The first play Bachira and Isagi set up was swiftly shut down by the U-20s’ captain, Aiku, and Isagi found a new challenge in him.
Our Take:
I think that this match is going to take up the remaining episode count, and that could be awesome. If I were going to bet on it, I would say that it would be good. The only thing I’m worried about is the animation. When they use more traditional animation, it looks great, but when they mix in the CGI stuff, the CGI they use is bad. It’s very noticeable, and it doesn’t look good at all. I hope that this epic match won’t be wasted by bad CGI.
It was a bit jarring to see how Isagi and Rin seemed almost friendly. That’s not the vibes I was getting from them in the previous episodes but perhaps with how Ego set up the team, it changed things. He did say that Isagi was there because he was able to make the best “chemical reaction” with Rin so maybe that’s why. I got goosebumps when the match was about to begin because I couldn’t imagine what it would be like as a high schooler to play in a stadium that packed.
