English Dub Review: My Hero Academia “It’s a Small World”
Overview:
Shishikura and the other members of Shiketsu High join the fight at the Gunga Villa site, and it’s do-or-die as the heroes unite to fight back! But as All For One gets younger, he gets stronger. That’s when unexpected backup arrives…!
Our Take:
First and foremost I want to bring attention to my boy Shinso. He became one of my favorite characters after his fight with Deku, especially when he joined in on the 1-A vs 1-B arc. I didn’t remember how instrumental he was in the fight against All for One, but he could mind control Gigantomachia and turn him against the enemy. That’s what a badass hero does and I’m sad we don’t get to see him more.
I think I’ve finally managed to put my finger on why this arc didn’t resonate with me. It’s the ending of one of my favorite series and it feels rushed. But my main issue is that it feels like we’re barely seeing what the main characters are doing. I’m all for secondary characters getting their time to shine but we’ve barely been with Deku it feels like. The most alarming thing is that it hasn’t bothered me as much as it should. What made me think about this was watching Hawks face off against All for One and it felt like he was the main character. I love Hawks so I wouldn’t mind but it was an interesting revelation to have.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
