English Dub Review: Chained Soldier “War, Naon, Recite”
Overview (Spoilers Below):
Yuuki learns a less than peachy truth. Later, he receives a finger licking good reward.
Our Take:
The humanoid Shuukis may not be as harmful as we believed. However, that doesn’t make things any easier for Yuuki to solve. As it turns out, there’s more to Mato’s peaches than just giving women supernatural abilities, as they’re also responsible for transforming Yuuki’s sister and the others into Shuuki. The member who experienced this sudden transformation worse is Naon, who once worked in the Mato Industry in Japan before she got stranded in Mato. Naon wound up eating the peach, but instead of giving her powers, it went haywire and turned her into a humanoid Shuuki. But that’s not the worst part, as Naon was also treated as a lab rat by a mysterious facility that specializes in experimenting on Shuukis. This causes Aoba and the others to plan a rebellion against those who silenced them from the truth, with the only obstacle standing in their way being the Demon Defense Force.
As expected, the episode showcases a situation that Yuuki alone may be unable to resolve. While he attempted to explain what happened with Aoba and the others, it was not enough to prevent the epic battle between the Shuuki and the Demon Defense Force. From the looks of this episode, the humanoid Shuukis have proven to be the Squadron’s most formidable foes they faced this season, with Himari and her sister suffering the worst. However, what these two groups don’t realize is that Shikoku, another humanoid Shuuki and the true bad guy, is about to commence her first strike. With only two episodes remaining this season, things continue to have turned around for the show regarding its plot progression and concept.
Do we know if Hulu will be the only entity to have the dub, or if it will be on other platforms, too? The show in general is definitely going to be on multiple platforms.
