English Dub Review: Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture “Hazy Moon”

Overview:

Rozé who believed Ash to be his father’s enemy, visits the Lavender Home where Ash was raised.

Our Take:

I’m glad that Sakuya decided to go and find out what happened with Ash growing up. We learned quite a bit about him and as you can expect, most of it was sad. He did have a brother but he looked nothing like Roze and I can only imagine how conflicted Sakuya must be now. Not only did Ash not kill her father but they were cellmates and Ash became friends with him and promised to take care of Sakuya before he ever met her. Sakuya never needed to use her Geass on him and the only reason he said he killed her father is because he feels like his actions led to his death.

This is all a moot point at the moment because Sakuya was just captured by Neo-Brittania. I hope that she gets a chance to tell Ash the truth but more than that I hope he doesn’t react the way I think he will. She had no way of knowing that he wouldn’t hurt her but her using his brother’s memory against him might be unforgivable.
