English Dub Review: Date A Live “The World Tree Sheds Leaves”
Overview
Many spirits were exhausted by Mio’s Ein Sof Ohr and collapsed. Kotori directs Fraxinus toward Mio and fires her spirit cannon, Gungnir, but…
Our Take
This time around, as Mio’s attempts to express her feelings despite feeling sincere, are anything but, when her actions are unsettling. Her casual attacks while talking so calmly are quite creepy. Shido’s clever strategy against the clones, and Westcott’s ambition to create a new world, establish the high stakes of the season. Despite this, Shido manages to impress with a trick up his sleeve. Mio’s relentless pursuit to be with Shido, however, crosses a dangerous line, adding a somber note to the episode.
The animation quality remains top-notch, enhancing the intense fight scenes and emotional moments. The episode’s pacing during the battle’s proceedings further adds to the climactic battle and sets the stage for higher stakes, as Mio for better or worse is moving ever closer to her goal…
Overall, this episode delivers on action and sets up the final conflict. While some elements felt underwhelming, like the quick resolution of the Westcott battle, the narrative remains engaging. The combination of character development, strategic confrontations, and high-quality animation makes this episode visually impressive along with the sense of escalation being higher than ever!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
