Our Take
This time around we get two Dubbed episodes, with the first one focusing on Komari being tasked with tracking down a serial killer/terrorist long after Komari rightfully whooped Millicent’s ass. The highlight is also the introduction of Sakuna, whose chemistry with Komari is quite fun and lighthearted, goofy tone, even if Villhaze doesn’t approve…
While the other episode escalates the proceedings when Komari’s life takes another chaotic turn in this episode with certain individuals within her circle want to jeopardize her position once again. But this is kinda what happens when you give a leadership position to a sheltered 15-year-old girl who doesn’t know what the fuck to do in these situations. Thankfully the mix of comedy and drama is highlighted during a heated meeting, with amusing moments like a room dedicated to Komari and her wearing a shirt with her own image. However, the situation takes a darker turn when Sakuna, a devoted Komari fan, is forced into an unthinkable situation…
Overall, these two episodes successfully blended humor, and suspense with a lighthearted touch of sexual innuendo. And despite some minor animation inconsistencies, the rest of the proceedings maintained its charm and sets up intriguing developments for future episodes. Hopefully they’ll both somehow find a way out of this mess, but it’s clear that Komari has a new friend, even if Villhaze isn’t fully on-board, while the other episode balances humor with serious themes, showcasing the implications of Sakuna’s semi-tragic backstory, and setting up high stakes for the coming episodes. And with the way it ended, I’m left with more questions than answers on that twist…
Do we know if Hulu will be the only entity to have the dub, or if it will be on other platforms, too? The show in general is definitely going to be on multiple platforms.
