English Dub Review: Ragna Crimson “Just Watch Me”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
Four superior dragons stand between them and the Winged Monarch.  With unyielding resolve, the Argentum Corps storm a dead capital for the final battle.

Our Take:
Another battle is already upon us, with Ragna and the Argentum Corps setting out to kill Ultimatia and save Starlia.  However, like the previous fight, this do-or-die showdown won’t be easy to beat since Ragna hasn’t been well-trained, as Crimson stated.  There’s also a matter of Woltekamui’s poison on Starlia that would kill her if they get too close to her.  Regardless, they have only one chance to take that window of opportunity before it’s gone for good.
With Carla’s magic by their side, Ragna and the corps travel to the royal capital, where the Monarchs are using the corpses of the slain citizens to feed their giant tree.  As the Corps members confront Olto Zora’s rage, Crimson and his servants join the battle, with Golem and Chimera confronting Borgius, who absorbs the tree to become the most enormous dragon in the world.  However, the actual confrontation of the episode is between Ragna and Woltekamui, with the latter seeking a rematch against the Silverine-powered Reaper.  Ragna’s only shot at defeating Woltekamui is with Starlia’s “imperfect” Silver Comet, which she formed as she’s about to succumb to the incurable poison.
Unsurprisingly, “Just Watch Me” marks a great start to what seemed to be the final showdown of the season.  It’s also not without its character moments that drive this intense conflict, including Garm informing Ragna to continue inspiring people with his perseverance and strength.  However, the moment between a dying Starlia and Ragna stands out from the rest due to Ragna’s hopes of living a better future with everyone and Starlia’s “imperfection”.  I’ll definitely be watching more of this showdown as we’re nearing the show’s epic conclusion.
