Adult Swim News: Updates For Rick and Morty, Aqua Teen, And Metalocalypse

Adult Swim had two big debuts for the month of May 2024, that being the second season of Smiling Friends and My Adventures With Superman, both of which have new episodes streaming on MAX which is pretty much all of the adult animation debuts you’re going to even get on the WB Discovery-owned streaming service for the month of June.

In any event, that’s not to say we don’t have some more mixed-at-best news for Adult Swim. First up, it’s sounding like creator Matt Maiellaro isn’t too high on the future of Aqua Teen Hunger Force nor is creator Brendon Small for the future of MetalocalypseFor the latter, Brendan actually has an idea for more Metalocalypse, but as of now, no good news for the future of the series. Same with My Adventures With Superman which has seasons three and four in development at the moment, just no official green light.

The future of Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty is a tad duller as well. That’s because in the upcoming release of WB Games’ Multiversus, the voices of Rick and Morty that originally featured Justin Roiland on the beta version of the game have been replaced with the lot less popular options of Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden. Moreover, this could be a prelude for the English dubbed adaptation Rick and Morty: The Anime which we now know will be premiering sometime later this summer.

Nothing like watching the Titanic sink in real-time.
