English Dub Review: TSUKIMICHI -Moonlit Fantasy “Summer of Growth and New Skills”

Overview

It’s summer vacation for Rotsgard Academy. Makoto spends his time doing miscellaneous work and learning magic. One day it’s decided he will have a mock battle against the wingkin. Makoto braces himself against his powerful enemies who are undefeated.

Our Take

During the summer break at Rotsgard Central Academy, Makoto takes care of the demi-plane’s issues in the Subspace, with Emma managing administrative tasks for him, such as conducting mock battles to test the wingkin. However, their current approach doesn’t seem conducive to building a strong spatial air force, indicating the need for further training. Despite his busy schedule, Makoto continues to train and expand his mana, enjoying Mio’s delicious cooking. However, he is reluctant to involve others in his battles.

A combat presentation battle is organized between all tribes, including the new wingkin and forest ogres, to assess their combat capabilities. Shiki demonstrates significant improvement, while Makoto’s mana training leads to his typical tendency to overdo things. Later, a technique presentation event proposed by Tomoe is held, showcasing the talents of the Subspace residents.

Overall, this episode offered a refreshing change of pace, allowing viewers to see Makoto back in action and engaging in light-hearted moments with Mio and Tomoe. However, the twist ending raises questions about the identity of the speaker and hints at potential developments in the remaining two episodes, and I look forward to seeing how it all unravels.
