English Dub Review: Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! “Life Without You Feels Super Off”

Overview:

Tsubasa and Minami miss the last bus home from the park and end up getting a hotel room, making the overnight date that Minami had joked about a reality. However, Minami sneaks out early, leaving Tsubasa confused and afraid to face her before she leaves.

Our Take:

I have many mixed emotions after this episode, it was both a letdown and the opposite all at once. I was letdown because Tsubasa and Minami spent a night together at a hotel but not really because Minami left in the middle of the night with a cryptic note. This left Tsubasa in quite a predicament because now he wasn’t sure if he should go see her off for her flight or not.

This led to the part I loved in which Tsubasa more or less confesses to Minami saying that he would wait for her to return, whether a year or however long. Minami seemed to forget to tell Tsubasa that she was going overseas for only two weeks she was back in time for the post-credits scene. I’m looking forward to writing the season review for this one. We’ve had an abundance of great romance anime in the last ten or so years and I’m looking forward to reflecting on this one and seeing where it ranks.
