English Dub Review: Gods’ Games We Play “Hide-and-God-Seek”

Overview:

Fay and Leshea are thrown into their first gods’ game together against Titan. The game they play is Hide-and-God-Seek. Fay and Leshea try to outsmart Titan as their teammates get incapacitated one after another.

Our Take:

Okay, NOW I’m a little more interested, though it is disappointing that people don’t die in these games. It lowers the stakes but raises the carefree enjoyment so I’ll take that as a win. Fay kept having flashbacks to a girl that inspired his love of games and she looks an awful lot like Leshea, but since Leshea was on ice for 3,000 years I think we can rule out her being that person. There could be a later plot twist that changes that but as for now, Fay’s wish is to meet that person again.

Fay’s arise, or his power, is that he can’t be killed but that seems useless given the way the games are structured but this episode showed that it had its uses. One thing I thought was pretty cool was that even though Titan, the god who was running this game, seemed hostile, once the game was over he was happy to have someone who figured out his game. If the games can stay interesting like this then I think we will have a good time with this show.
