English Dub Review: The Foolish Angel Dances with the Devil “The Happy Foolish Angel and Demon”

Overview:

With Lily sick and bedridden, her avatar comes to school claiming to be her older sister “Lilia.” She quickly convinces the faculty to let her stay for the day and is a hit among the students.

Our Take:

Well, I have to say that I now hope we see a bit more of “Lilia”, the name Lily’s avatar chose for herself. She came to school for Lily and it seems that the teacher remembered his run-in with her because he was pretty quick to let her stay even though it was outside the norm. The most surprising part was that even though she tried to injure Akutsu a couple of times she wasn’t upset about what he thought she was. She was under the impression that Akutsu was the reason Lily had become ill.

Just like any good anime, when someone is sick that results in a group visit to the person’s house to make sure they’re okay. It’s nothing like that here in the States normally, in most cases you ride that shit out on your own. But being sick in anime is a huge deal and requires your entire class to check and see if you’re okay. I find it interesting how quickly a school will hand out personal information in anime.

What isn’t like normal anime is how quickly the misunderstanding between Lily and Akutsu got resolved. The romance fan in me hopes this takes a more happy turn but with a guy that looks like one of Lily’s advisors showing up something tells me that won’t happen anytime soon.
