English Dub Review: Classroom of the Elite “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

Overview:

After conversing with her brother Manabu, Horikita offers Yamauchi’s name as the one who should be expelled. He has made a few contributions to the class and worked with Sakayanagi in Class A to expel Ayanokoji.

Our Take:

Seeing how a plan came together is one of my favorite things about a show like this, almost everything is accounted for now. How Ichinose got the points she needed without being forced into a relationship was linked to how Ryuen was saved from being expelled. The only thing that isn’t accounted for that I hope we get to find out is how Ayanokoji got first place. I didn’t think he would get expelled but I also didn’t think he would get top in the exam.

A lot of anime have mind games and psychological stuff, but I feel like this might be one of the best to do it. Ayanakoji isn’t a protagonist you root for normally, you know he’s not the best of guys but he’s just so damn calculating that it’s fun to watch. It’s like when you watch the Joker in The Dark Knight it’s fun. I don’t think Ayanokoji is as insane as that but it’s still a good comparison.
