English Dub Review: Classroom of the Elite “There is only one rule in love: bring happiness to those you love.”

Overview:

As Hirata recovers and the class shows unity, it’s finally Ayanokoji vs. Sakayanagi. The final special exam has begun and the first round is basketball. Class C puts up a good fight, but Sakayanagi plans to shake Sudo so he will fall mentally.

Our Take:

I always forget that Justin Briner voices Ayanokoji because he’s so far removed from most of the characters he voices. Almost every Justin Briner voice is cheery and has this childlike glee, but not Ayanokoji. He’s cold, and calculating and I don’t know if I have ever heard Ayanokoji have any joy in his voice. Now that I’m thinking about it, I don’t think we’ve heard him laugh either, man that’s sad huh?

Remember that new guy on the board for the school? The one who seems to work for Ayanokoji’s dad and wants him to leave school? Yeah, he’s a bigger dick than we thought. Since Ayanokoji and Sakayanagi are their team captains they get little things they can do for each event. For the final event, a chess match, they can give moves to their players for thirty minutes. I won’t spoil what happens but let’s say Ayanokoji got screwed.

By the end of each season, Ayanokoji also adds someone new to his list of girls who want him. How many are up to now? Four? Five? I didn’t expect Sakayanagi to be as warm and compassionate towards him as she was but it seems she knew him since they were children. The fallout of what happens in this series has always been awesome so these last two episodes will probably be action-packed.
