English Dub Review: BUCCHIGIRI?! “Frightening! Chill Shrimps Falling Down Like Snowflakes!”

Overview:

Matakara goes to confront Shindo in attempt to end the gang war, but he makes a shocking discovery.

Our Take:

Matakara wants to prevent the war between Siguma and Minato Kai from happening. He goes to confront Shindo to do this, but NG locks him up in the process. The bigger story is the fact that Arajin is acting cool with Shindo.

That’s because Shindo entices him with girls and he even wants Arajin to join NG. He also has suspicions about Arajin’s strength. Zabu later frees Matakara and they try to stop the war, but it seems to be too late.

This episode actually reveals a couple of important details. It reveals why Arajin’s friendship with Matakara seemingly ended, why Shindo wants to destroy the rival gangs and that Senya isn’t the only djinn around.

I’m kind of curious to see where Shindo will fit into everything. We know where he fits in with this gang war, but I mean with his own djinn inhabiting his body. Senya senses it and Shindo has his own suspicions about Arajin. Maybe that will lead to some sort of epic brawl.

I’m glad that we finally find out why Arajin acts so cold toward Matakara. Unsurprisingly, it’s because he was a coward when they were younger and that hasn’t changed. He’s still a coward and he still can only let his lower head makes his decisions. At least this episode shows that growth is possible, but he has a long way to go.
