Report: Allure: The Evening Primrose To Be Adapted As An Adult Anime TV Series By Naomi Osaka
Tennis star Naomi Osaka’s company Hana Kuma and Rebel Maverick are teaming up to adapt Allure: The Evening Primrose as an adult anime TV series according to a new report from Deadline.
Osaka is attached to voice the lead character in a series that is being adapted by Kenny Byerly. The Webtoon hosted manga series that you can read here follows Akane Koizumi, an orphan on the streets of Tokyo has always dreamed of a life of luxury. After an unexpected encounter lands her in the hands of the Yakuza, she’s trained to become the perfect assassin given the enhancement drug, Allure.
The series is expected to be marketed later this year.
Our Take
Look for Prime Video, Netflix, and Crunchyroll to be the favorites to land this series, in that order. That said, with the way Crunchyroll handled another anime original series produced by an LGBT producer just recently, Rebel Maverick(a queer, Afro-Latinx writing and producing team) may look elsewhere.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
