Our Take
In an unexpected turn of events, Crunchyroll blind-sides me with another episode merely a day or so after the previous one. This one picks up with Arthur Pencilgon being understandably disappointed by the “Ashura Kai” clan and their leader Orcelott due to their slow decline from being proud assassins to now being reduced to just another clan collecting experience and hoarding equipment. And despite the Ashura Kai themselves knowing the location of unique a monster called “Wethermon Tombguard”, they choose not to risk attacking the thing in case they lose their valuable equipment and in response to this, Arthur decides to kill take matters into her own hands.
Meanwhile Rei surprises Rakuro with a friend request under her Psyger-0 Avatar. Though Rakuro assumes she is trying to manipulate him for access to the unique scenario and accepts the request, planning to manipulate her instead. Having become online friends Rei accepts that he prefers to play solo and lets him travel to Fourfolkshire alone, planning to talk to him later now she has his contact information. Passing through the Prismatic Forest with Emul. Rakuro is amazed by the variety of insect type monsters, even witnessing a battle between some Insect enemies. But afterward, he proceeds to find the area boss that has a very unusual name…
Overall, I’m glad that Rei/Psyger-0 finally managed to become friends with Sunraku. It may not be much, but all that’s left now is for her to just confess. We’re also given a chance to get to know more about Arthur outside of the online game. And finally, I thought this episode was pretty funny with the way Sunraku used a full-body ghost costume to hide along other hanging clothes to the comical sports commentary that he provided (too bad Emul was bad at color commentating though). But now I remain hyped for whatever comes next!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
