English Dub Review: Heaven Official’s Blessing “Heavenly Palace Raid”

Overview:

Acknowledging his position as the State Preceptor, Xie Lian is apprehended and put under house arrest. He reflects on his haunted past before the doors of the Palace of Xianle are kicked open and silver butterflies swarm in.

Our Take:

Based on what I know about Xie Lian, I find it hard to believe that he did the horrific acts he’s being accused of. Did his body do it? Perhaps, but I have a feeling he was possessed or something, there’s no way that the Xie Lian we’ve come to know is capable of such things. We’re talking about a guy who never even wished death or harm upon his enemies, but yet he supposedly slaughtered people who trusted him and he was close with? I don’t buy it, but that leads to the next problem.

Xie Lian was put under house arrest until the investigation could be completed. Hua Cheng somehow breaks in and Xie Lian leaves with him (or was he kidnapped?) and that doesn’t look good. I might not think that he’s guilty but you can imagine how this is going to look to everyone else.
