English Dub Review: Jujutsu Kaisen “Red Scale”

Overview:

Yuji makes his way to Shibuya Station where he’s confronted by Choso. Choso unleashes his Convergence and the battle between him and Yuji commences.

Our Take:

These are the types of episodes where MAPPA really shows out. A few studios come to mind when I think of really awesome fight scenes. The only studio that might be better than MAPPA to me is Ufotable. They must have sold their souls to the animation devil or something in order to animate the way they do. Basically, what I’m getting at is that this was an amazing fight scene between Yuji and Choso. What was especially interesting was the fact that the fight took up the whole episode, but trust me your eyes will thank you for watching this one.

From a story perspective, this one didn’t advance too much on account of the fight taking the whole episode. I also wasn’t super clear on what happened at the end of the fight but I think that will get cleared up in the next episode, or I hope it does at least. It seems like all of our favorite Jujutsu sorcerers are taking massive losses at the moment so hopefully that ends soon.
