English Dub Review: Goblin Slayer “Beard-cutter, to the Southern River”
Overview:
High Elf Archer receives mail about a wedding. She invites the rest of the party to join her in attendance. With plans to travel via river the group is warned that many boats have recently been sunk.
Our Take:
When High Elf Archer said “It’s time for marriage” I thought she was about to get married, and I’m not gonna lie I was a little depressed. Look I know that it’s unlikely that this show turns into a nice slice of life romance, and it’s even less likely that if there was some romance for High Elf Archer to be the girl that Goblin Slayer is interested in but I was still a bit worried.
Speaking of High Elf Archer, can I complain about something? I hate the naming conventions in this series. I understand that it’s supposed to lean into the tabletop/ D&D scenario but if you’ve ever played D&D you would know people love to name their characters so if we could get some names that would be nice but I don’t think that will happen.
Nitpicks aside this was a chill episode for the most part but as per usual goblins rear their ugly head. Well… maybe, the episode ended before we saw who actually attacked them. But I’m hoping that the next episode we get to see the wedding.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
