Review: Pariah Nexus “On Her Blindness”

This was a rather surprising way to end the series? The finale of Pariah Nexus was so sudden. Going in and not knowing “On Her Blindness” was the end of the show was jarring.

You get the immediate aftermath of the battle between the Necron sniper getting overrun by the zombie humans. Getting the Necron regenerative powers shown was really cool, because you see the sniper zombie walking until the regenerative powers kick in. After a minute, he’s walking normal again. I just wished we got more of this Necron. He really made this series.

The continued mental breakdown of Sister Danica showed a lot more, where her dead squad member points out that the priest pointing out her fears and shortcomings pushed her over the edge, and all you get is a fade to black as a shot rings. The return was Sister Danica coming around and getting the priest on the move. The first shock of this episode was watching Danica take a back shot from that damn sniper. It came just in time for Danica to get over her own shit with the priest.

However, the real star is Sa’kan. This absolute beast of a soldier protected his group of survivors, and managed to get them on their way. He loses an arm to a Scorpeth Lord, just to come around to annihilate it later. After this badass finds the group again, he takes on that sniper again, this time face to face. This was more of a cliffhanger for Sa’kan, and a decent look into a possible sequel. This man took down the Scorpeth Lord, and the sniper by himself. With malfunctioning armor, and one missing arm.

The finale wrapped almost everything into one neat package. Everyone from this group, save for Sa’kan, is dead. Sa’kan is on a revenge mission now to take down the Necron who destroyed Paradyse, and took the lives of the group. I am all in on getting more of Sa’kan and his path of vengeance. I also want more of the Necron as well. Like I’ve said before, the only group that gets a lot of shine is the Space Marines. We need more on other factions.

That said, “On Her Blindness” was an absolute banger. The narrative following the three nexus points of Sa’kan trying to get his group of survivors out, Danica trying to deal with her mental demons, and the sniper trying to kill both of them all converged surprisingly…mostly because I didn’t know it was only three episodes. The only problem with this three episode stretch is that I want more.
