English Dub Review: The Dangers in my Heart “Karte 7: We Swapped Places”
Overview
Kyotaro can no longer deny he likes Anna. He tells himself it’s not like he wants to be her boyfriend, but there’s a detail he hasn’t considered: maybe Anna wants him to be.
Our Take
Kyotaro makes a surprising discovery that Anna is a regular on a weekly TV program. During running class, their connection deepens as Anna speeds with him, initiating casual physical contact. The accidental swap of jackets leads to a covert exchange in the infirmary, where Anna intriguingly smells his jacket before returning it. Their interactions take a whimsical turn as Anna proposes height measurement for fun, resulting in an unintended weight scale mishap. Kyotaro finds himself perplexed by Anna’s unpredictable behavior.
Later on, news of Anna’s possible role in an upcoming mainstream movie prompts rearrangements in class seating, positioning her ahead of Kyotaro. Misunderstandings arise when Anna becomes jealous, oblivious to Kyotaro’s necessity in borrowing notes, but attempts to clarify lead to a series of comical miscommunications and misinterpretations. In the library, Kyotaro asks about the movie and learns it is a smaller role than their classmates assumed, and that the movie she’s in will premiere two years from now, at which point they’ll have graduated which gives him a sense of relief that she still has a way to go before becoming a full-fledged celebrity.
Overall, I thought this episode was a bit comical, yet we learn a bit about Anna’s career. In combination with those proceedings, it was also filled with shenanigans, humorous misunderstandings, and unique character dynamics, providing both entertainment and a touch of romance. The visual elements, such as the jersey and sailor uniforms, contribute to a distinct fashion statement, making the episode an engaging installment in the evolving relationship between the two leads. However, we have a long way to go to see where their relationship potentially goes in later episodes…
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
