English Dub Review: Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War “Too Early To Win Too Late To Know”

Overview:

Yhwach finally steps through the main entrance of the Royal Palace. Accompanied by Haschwalth and Uryu, the Quincy King is preparing to advance toward the Greater Palace when they are stopped by Senjumaru Shutara of Squad Zero.

Our Take:

I’d seen the internet hyping up Senjumaru so when she got wiped out I thought there must be something else at play. I don’t know who made the illusion but I’m glad that all of that hype wasn’t false, not yet at least.

My only problem with this arc so far is I want more Ichigo! Johnny Yong Bosch is one of my favorite VAs and I love covering stuff that he’s in but there hasn’t been much to work with. Even just from a character perspective it’s been frustrating, Ichigo has some of the most badass moments and I want more. It almost feels like One Punch Man or Dragonball Z at this point where everyone is just “holding on” until Saitama/Goku gets there.

I’m just really excited for Bleach every week so they must be doing something right. The fight scenes have been enjoyable and other than a few slip-ups here and there the character writing has been good. I think we only have a few episodes left but luckily part three will be out next year I believe.
