FOX Entertainment To Offer Up Slew Of Adult Animation In International Sales Including Originals From Tubi
FOX Entertainment Global (FEG), FOX Entertainment’s worldwide content sales division, today unveiled an expanded program slate for MIPCOM 2023 that includes an array of original animated content from Bento Box Entertainment and MarVista Entertainment .
FOX is touting the highly anticipated animated comedy KRAPOPOLIS, from Emmy Award winner, creator and executive producer Dan Harmon (Rick and Morty, Community). Set to premiere on FOX on Sunday, September 24, and already renewed for three seasons, KRAPOPOLIS features the voices of Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd) and Matt Berry (What We Do in The Shadows). FEG is also distributing the animated series GRIMSBURG, starring and executive produced by Emmy winner Jon Hamm (Mad Men, Top Gun: Maverick), which will premiere on FOX this mid-season and has been renewed for a second season. Both GRIMSBURG and KRAPOPOLIS are produced by Bento Box.
FOX also plans to unveil more than 20 made-for-platform movies in Cannes from MarVista and Bento Box, which produced the animated features BIG BRUH, MILLENNIAL HUNTER and PASTACOLYPSE and is also going to be offering up content for international sales from Tubi including including movies, series, specials and documentaries spanning various genres.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
