English Dub Review: The Duke of Death and His Maid “The Duke, Alice, and the Encounter in the Witches’ World”

Overview:

Walter, Alice, and the Duke head to the Witches’ World to find out more about the curse. Walter has an unexpected encounter.

Our Take:

Walter’s whole complex about being the second son has to be one of the funnier gags in anime I’ve experienced lately. Anytime the number two is ever brought up that boy starts coughing up blood, and who is the best match for a guy with an inferiority complex with his brother? A girl who has an inferiority complex with her sister! This is my newest ship for the series, Daleth and Walter! The age gap could be troublesome since I’m sure she’s in her hundreds but who knows.

Having said that I’m interested to see where this mini little arc takes us. I hope that Daleth and Walter can get to know the Duke more and relize he’s a great guy. To be fair I don’t think Daleth necessarily hates the Duke but she’s pretty indifferent. I’m hoping for an Avenger’s like team-up where everyone gets together to cure the Duke’s curse then they come together to defeat some bigger threat. One of the best parts of the episode was Daleth finally becoming comfortable with how she looks and showing everyone her face.
