English Dub Review: Jujutsu Kaisen “Evening Festival”
Overview:
The battle between Muta and Mahito continues and reaches its conclusion. Later, on October 31st, a veil is lowered over Shibuya and various jujutsu sorcerer teams assemble around the area.
Our Take:
If the preview wasn’t enough I thought I would tell you that this episode had to be an homage to Neon Genesis Evangelion with all the imagery there was. From the way Mechamaru’s mech looked, to the plug coming out of it, there was even a countdown in his cockpit. I thought it was cool, and as much as I love mecha anime, this was a fun episode. Although, it was a little sad, and if Jujutsu Kaisen fans are anything to go by I have a feeling it will only get worse.
I don’t think you need to have prior knowledge of the source material to know that something bad might happen soon. You didn’t have to have read the books to feel tense during the “Red Wedding” episode of Game of Thrones. Sometimes, you can just feel how tense things are and this gigantic set-piece fight was just the kickoff. As far as set-pieces go it was fantastic, I hope Mappa is paying their people well because they really know how to animate a fight scene.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
