English Dub Review: The Devil is a Part-Timer! “The Devil and the Hero Question Their Daily Routine”

Overview:

The battle with Gabriel and Raguel is over, but the transition back into daily life isn’t all smooth sailing.

Our Take:

I would say that Maou is a good guy, which is a weird thing to say about someone who is representing themselves as the devil in this world. He might be nicer than a lot of other people I can think of and they aren’t the devil. Emi has clearly been struggling with things since the most recent battle came to an end. She has been having a hard time finding her purpose and it seems like Maou finally started to notice. He put on his best intimidating face and talked about conquering the Earth or going back home and getting back to what he was doing there. But I think we all know that he’s just blowing smoke.

Before things can get too crazy though he’s interrupted by a demon who wants him to go back to his old ways. I have to admit it was a bit hard to follow and it feels like Maou might be getting sucked back in soon. But something tells me that things will get going sooner rather than later and I’m hoping it’s as fun as the last season.
