Overview:
Masamune and Aki go on their second date on Christmas Eve, which happens to also be Aki’s birthday as well, but…
Our Take:
I’m going to probably give this episode an unfair rating because of the technical issues that seem to still persist with Crunchyroll. There were a lot of text messages and signs and even a book in this episode and guess what? None of it was translated on screen! It’s so frustrating because a lot of times it is plot-important stuff. Nothing is more frustrating than seeing a text message on the screen and hearing a character say “What does that mean?!” and not knowing what was said. Plus, Aki saw a book on the ground, and context clues tell me that it might have been Masamune’s revenge book but I won’t be able to know for sure.
If it was the book it leads to another problem I have with fiction in general. Why would you keep that around? I don’t think even Masamune knows if he’s giving up on his revenge plan but if he is then the first thing he needed to do was get rid of the book. Probably shouldn’t have had a book in the first place but we got to create conflict somewhere I suppose. I guess we’ll see in the next episode what exactly happened but Crunchyroll is too big of a company for these mistakes to continue.
