English Dub Review: Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War “Peace From Shadows”

Overview:

Yhwach sets his plan to end the world in nine days in motion by pulling the Seireitei into the Schatten Bereich for the Stern Ritter to invade.

Our Take:

This was like night and day between my other review of the day. I mentioned in that one I had a hard time staying awake. That was the case for this at first too but eventually, the fights started to pop off, and man were they good. Some of the captains that we thought were down and out came back with a vengeance but once again things are looking bleak. But luckily it seems like Urahara might have a plan to even the odds.

If you were to watch Naruto without Naruto, or Dragonball without Goku it wouldn’t be the same show. Sure there’s an argument to be made but for the most part, those series are nothing without their lead characters. This episode had zero Ichigo in it except for a little post-credits scene and it was still fantastic. You might think that’s me talking smack about Ichigo as a protagonist but I think it just goes to show how well a lot of the supporting characters are written that they can hold up an episode. I also simp for Soifon so that could have been part of it.
