English Dub Review: Reign of the Seven Spellblades “Ceremony”
Overview:
New student Oliver arrives at Kimberly Magic Academy, a house of learning where 20% of the students don’t make it out in one piece.
Our Take:
You know, there was a time when I wondered if a manga or light novel I really liked would get an anime. Flash forward a few years and I’m wondering what the next one is going to be. Almost all of my favorites have gotten an anime so be on the lookout for a Boy’s Abyss anime because then I will really lose it.
As for Reign of the Seven Spellblades, it’s a light novel series that has at least six volumes in english so far. I’ve only read the first volume to completion and I have to say I am really looking forward to this one. J.C. Staff is handling this one and so far I think it’s in great hands. The animation is fantastic and beautiful. One thing I have noticed more from the summer dubs Crunchyroll is putting out is that they are using some newer talent. Drew Breedlove is the voice of the main character Oliver and you might recognize him as Bachira in Bluelock. While not a complete unknown I think this might be his first lead role and I liked it so far.
As I said I only got one volume in but what appealed to me was the potential of romance between Oliver and Nanao. This was one of my most anticipated anime of the season and so far I’m impressed and can’t wait to see more. I’m really excited to see how the this voice talent grows from here.

There's got to be some kind of twist that's going to happen with this. I don't know if they're setting up an April Fool's joke now or what's going on, but it seems too strange that they'd suddenly reverse on doing a fourth and fifth season after the show was already renewed and they were even just talking about working on those seasons like a couple months ago or something. Or maybe the two episodes yet to release will secretly somehow each be like a "season" in themselves?
