English Dub Review: Link Click “Falling/Night Raid”

Overview:

It seems like Cheng and Lu are one step closer to finding the killer. However, they encounter a number of unpredictable setbacks.

Our Take:

The show picks up right where it left off at the end of season one. The killer is possessing Qiao Ling and causes her to stab Lu Guang. Cheng Xiaoshi fights the killer off for a little bit, but he flees once the cops enter the house. At first, they assume Cheng stabbed Lu. At least this part of the case is solved after a while. A lot more happens in these two episodes, but I don’t want to give too much away.

Link Click continues to master in the art of suspense. It always manages to keep me guessing on what’s going to happen next. It looks like Cheng, Lu, and the cops are one step closer to finding the killer. However, with every lead they have, a new obstacle presents itself.

It doesn’t help that they have more than one enemy to worry about. A lot of other people are getting involved and it’s becoming an even messier situation. The dynamic between the main trio seems to change a little bit too. It’s still too early in the season to tell if that change will be permanent, but it’s at least nice to see Qiao getting involved a little more.

These first two episodes also carry a couple of emotional scenes. Season one was great at making me burst into tears. It seems like season two is likely to have the same result. Great storytelling as always and some characters are getting more depth too.

Overall, Link Click is off to a great start with its second season. I was waiting patiently after season one to see where the story would go. These first two episodes do not disappoint. Season one was a wild ride and it looks like season two will be no different. Buckle up because this is a wild ride you won’t want to miss.
