English Dub Review: My Home Hero “The Spider’s Thread”

Overview:

Tetsuo races against the clock to plant evidence to frame someone else as Nobuto’s murderer. Kasen scrambles to keep Reika away from Kyoichi after he tries to get in contact with her.

Our Take:

I know, I know “Here he goes again talking about his heart and how tense this anime is” But you know what? It keeps stressing me out! So, as long as it keeps doing that, I will mention it. I can’t think of one episode that has been a fun, peaceful time. I suppose that is what you get when you kill your daughter’s boyfriend who also happens to be a member of a Yakuza gang.

The thing about trying to frame Kyoichi is that I don’t necessarily think that he’s a bad guy. He works for a shady organization sure but I had a feeling he wasn’t all bad. Then this episode happened and of course, we get some of his backstory. This boy wants to start a restaurant like his father and he knows that his dad didn’t kill himself but the Yakuza did it. I would really like to see Tetsuo and Kyoichi start working together, like really working together. I know they technically are right now but they also just want to frame each other I think their interests line up more than they might know. Hopefully, we see that come to fruition in future episodes but only time will tell.
