English Dub Review: The Aristocrat’s Otherworldly Adventure: Serving Gods Who Go Too Far “A Date with the Strongest Captain of the Knights”

Overview:

Cain meets the captain of the knights and faces her in a mock battle.

Our Take:

Cain continues his philandering ways as he meets the captain of the knights: Tifana von Ribelt. She always has to fight strong people she meets, so her and Cain engage in a mock battle. Cain wins and Tifana is immediately smitten with him. In fact, she also wants to marry him and even gets her father’s permission to do so.

More importantly, Cain finally reveals the truth to his father, the king, and a few others. He admits that he’s been reincarnated from a past life and that he’s spoken to all seven gods. That’s why he can read a book nobody else can and why he’s so overpowered. Cain requests that nobody treats him differently despite knowing the truth. Everyone agrees and they’re all sworn to secrecy.

Cain is no engaged to three girls. Well, two girls and one elf woman, but still. I’m getting flashback to The Fruit of Evolution, which isn’t a good thing. I wasn’t a fan of that show, but I will say that this one is more interesting. I also don’t mind Tifana. She’s kind of annoying, but also kind of funny. I need to see a little more of her in order to form a solid opinion on the character.

I wasn’t expecting Cain to actually reveal the truth to anyone. That kind of thing rarely happens in isekai, but he doesn’t have much of a choice. After all, the king shows him a book that was written in Japanese. It turns out that Cain is the only one in the entire kingdom who can read it. The first king wrote the book. He also seemed to have been reincarnated like Cain. I think that’s a pretty interesting twist.

This show’s finally starting to get a little interesting. It hasn’t completely won me over yet, but straying from the usual isekai formula is helping. I still hope Cain will grown on me at some point, but we’re making progress.
