English Dub Review: Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts: “The Feline and Reptile Princesses”
Overview: Sariphi (Emi Lo) welcomes new princesses to the castle, some who will be friends and others who will attempt to challenge her position in Leon’s (Ray Hurd) heart.
Our Take: The newest princess arrivals bring with them their own set of developments for Sariphi’s relationship with Leonhart. The characters are relatively face value, at least starting that way, especially the feline femme fatale, Vivian. She’s the scheming seductress, offering little surprises in her ambition to manipulate the king.
Amit, the reptilian princess, starts off on a similarly simple path as a meek woman unsure of herself. However, it’s Leon’s captain, Jormungand, who brings out the fight in her to secure her man. It’s a very endearing and cute way of taking her beyond a simple caricature. Jormungand is also a nice addition in bringing an honorable presence in how he treats Sariphi. Also, Amit’s hurdles of being trapped by circumstance allow her to act as a relatable friend for Seriphi. As a side bonus, the lizard princess’s cute as a button in celebrating her newfound friendship.
Leonhart was never going to take a concubine, so that’s nothing shocking, of course. It does one better in giving him the opportunity to reaffirm his feelings, solely for Sariphi. Sariphi’s navigation of love and its chemical reactions doesn’t jump off the page as wholly original. Nonetheless, her understanding is a sweet way of progressing her feelings moving forward.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
