English Dub Review: My Clueless First Friend “Summer Vacation Begins”

Overview:

The students plan and begin their summer vacation.

Our Take:

Takada and Nishimura continue being great friends. Takada continues sticking up for Nishimura and turning other peoples’ insults into compliments. Nishimura continues blushing at almost everything Takada says and just being adorable in general.

The two find a cat, whom Nishimura adopts and names Kuro. Kasahara briefly takes an interest in Nishimura, but that’s only to look at pictures of her cat. Takada and Nishimura also plan their summer break and all of the students go to swim at the school’s pool. Nishimura even gets a new swimsuit for the occasion, which Takada compliments and continues the trend of wholesome interactions.

This show continues to be a heartwarming and enjoyable experience. The other students are still picking on Nishimura, but Takada is still managing to reflect their insults back at them. The best part is that he doesn’t even realize he’s doing it. I enjoy seeing the other students’ insults getting shot down, but I would also like to at least some of them start acting friendly towards Nishimura. Kasahara doesn’t count because she only cares about Nishimura’s cat. At least Hino’s still going against the crowd. Hopefully others will follow his example soon.
