BABYLON 5 ANIMATED MOVIE IS ON THE WAY AND ALREADY “IN THE CAN”

Over the last few years or so WB Animation has been digging into its archive of IP’s and producing animated films not just inspired by DC Comics, but also featuring the likes of Mortal Kombat, RWBY, and more. One of those projects was a surprise announced today by creator J. Michael Straczynski is in the form of an animated movie inspired by Babylon 5.

For those that don’t know, Babylon 5 was a sci-fi series produced for the CW in the late nineties,  Babylon 5 follows The Earth Alliance who has just placed a massive space station, Babylon 5, into orbit around a planet in a neutral corner of a distant galaxy to serve as a refuge for anyone seeking sanctuary from the hostile federations that dominate space.

The animated film is not only being produced by WB Home Entertainment and WB Animation, but J.Michael says “it’s in the can” with additional details forthcoming sometime next week.
