Steve Oedekerk To Thumb-Strike Back With New Thumb Wars!

Steve Oedekerk’s O Entertainment is long the grandfather of the term “Thumbation” which essentially means stop-motion animation that also utilizes thumbs as characters. Steve typically creates short films utilizing this animation method to parody popular movie franchises like Star Wars, Titanic, The Blair Witch Project and more and it looks like the comedy writer/director responsible for Ace Venture: When Nature Calls, Nutty Professor, and Bruce Almighty is slated to drop his next creation on May 4th called Thumb Wars IX: The Thighs of Skyskipper.

This new film is an upcoming spoof of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and a sequel to Thumb Wars: The Phantom Cuticle and it will serves as Oedekerk’s first project following his hiatus due to the bad reception of Planet Sheen.

Check out the trailer below and look out for the new film to release between 2022 and 2024 (the poster is teasing December 1st  probably streaming on the OEDEWORLD YouTube channel. The actual film will be in the 90-minute time-length, but there’s a promise of a prequel featurette coming on the way as well.

Synopsis:

Thumb Wars IX is the epic tale of Loke Skyskipper and family. The story reveals the truth behind the seemingly reclusive Loke Skyskipper while tracking the ongoing internal conflict of Thumblo Ren and the mysterious origin story of Thumbray.
