Our Take
We’ve seen a number of “takeover bar” episodes from Family Guy, but this week’s featured quite a bit of Jay Pharaoh which is always a welcome sight because Jay is an incredible voice actor and has been a consulting producer on Family Guy for quite some time, but is seldom used, so whenever he DOES get used, it’s usually for a good time.
Following last week’s episode that featured Lois going nuts with Airbnb, this week we get to see the Griffins battle with TikTok, showcasing the ridiculousness in kids coming up with Tiktok stunts, even when it means somebody’s life is on the line. Personally, I thought both plots would’ve been better as individual episodes but extended. For starters, I would’ve liked to have seen Stewie do some silly shit with the money he ascertained from the award, and maybe showcase the Tiktok kids a bit more to torture Brian a bit more.
We didn’t get a TON of cutaways this week, only the one, but there were still some extended scene gags that were pretty funny. The guitar playing guy, Joe finding the Griffin bodies, and Moses constantly attempting to the cliche show up only to keep screwing it up were all pretty funny.
Nothing crazy inventive with Family Guy, but I’m enjoying the slow burn through the apps because it gives the producers a number of subjects in which to throw gas on. We only have two more episodes to go, let’s see if we can go out with a bang!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
